A short 10 minute boat ride from Marina St Vincent, the Hobart enjoys underwater visibility of more than 10 metres most of the year. The water clarity, the massive fish populations and the giant vessel make this an exciting dive experience.

Tips for Diving the exHMAS Hobart
Diving Tips
- BEST TIME OF DAY TO DIVE THE HOBART. Check daily tide times & current. The best time of day to dive depends on the tides. Diving at the peak low or high tide when water movement is minimal is best as the tidal water movement at other times can make it difficult for the novice or inexperienced diver.
- BEST TIME OF YEAR TO DIVE THE HOBART. The best time of year to dive is Autumn. The water is colder but clearer. For regular divers, the time of the year does not really matter provided you have an appropriate dive suit for the conditions and water movement is minimal.
- SIZE OF BOAT REQUIRED. If the water is anything else but flat, a larger boat between 5 to 8 metres is best suited for the conditions.
- TAKE A CAMERA. Make sure to take a camera with you and capture your experience. You can then enter them into the Shoot the Hobart Competition.
- RESPONSIBILITY OF DIVER. Please read the code of practice before diving.
